Can I register to vote on Election Day? How do I check my polling place? What will be the ballot question related to the HMS Referendum?
Residents interested in learning more about any aspect of the voting process should visit their county election site – either www.DuPageCo.org/Election or www.CookCountyClerk.com. Both sites offer a tool to verify your polling place: www.DuPageCo.org/VoterLookup or www.CookCountyClerk.com/Elections/VoterProfile.
If you have not yet registered to vote, please note that beginning this year, you can register to vote and vote at your local precinct on Election Day. You will need two valid forms of identification and must meet standard voter qualifications. Upon arriving at your polling place, the District recommends voters check that they have been given the correct ballot for D181 residents. The referendum question may be the last question on the ballot. The ballot language will read as follows, and a Yes/No response choice will be offered:
“Shall the Board of Education of Community Consolidated School District Number 181, DuPage and Cook Counties, Illinois (located primarily in Hinsdale and Clarendon Hills, Illinois), improve the site of and build and equip a new school building and issue bonds of said School District to the amount of $53,329,194 for the purpose of paying the costs thereof?”
