Night Owl Oak School Benefit Needs You!

So many amazing parents are already involved in helping to make the upcoming Night Owl Benefit a huge success! We are in need of a chair for Underwriting! This chair would work closely with the auction chairs to solicit sponsorships and underwriting from local businesses and individuals.  Much of the hard work is already done – basically the chair will take the materials already drafted and approach those businesses and individuals in our communities, and especially within our own Oak community, to generate funds for this event! Please contact Tracy at tzoberis@hotmail.com if interested.

Annual Oak School Book Fair!

Hello! It’s that time of year again; we are gearing up for the annual Oak School Book Fair, which runs this year from Tuesday, 10/31 through Thursday, 11/2 from 8AM – 4PM. This year we will have a Decorate-A-Pumpkin raffle!  If your child brings in a pumpkin decorated as his or her favorite book character on Monday 10/31, during book fair hours, he or she will be entered into a raffle and their pumpkin will be displayed in the MRC during the book fair. Two participating children from each grade and one from the AM and one from the PM preschool students will win a book fair voucher. The pumpkin should be no bigger than a small pie pumpkin and only surface decorations are allowed (No carved pumpkins, please!)  Write the child’s and the character’s names on the back or bottom of the pumpkin.

Parents, please come and check out your teachers’ wish lists!  Students can bring money to school to shop the book fair themselves, we however we cannot hold items.

The Halloween Costume Parade is also on 10/31 so please come and shop before and after the parade if you’re able to attend! The more we sell, the more money we raise for new library books in the Oak MRC.

Finally, we need VOLUNTEERS! Days/hours when we need heavy volunteer time are: Monday (set up), Friday (tear down), mornings (8 am – 9 am), lunch (11 am – 12:30 pm), and after school (2:30 pm – 4 pm).    Thanks, Oak PTO!

Thank you!

It was so great to see so many of you at our evening PTO meeting last week! Thank you to Mrs. Woodward & Mrs. Pastiak for giving an update on the flexible furniture. The photos and testimonials from the students were great to see & hear. Also sending a big thank you to Sonja Gill for arranging for Officer Wodka from Hinsdale PD to attend and discuss the concerns with the crossing at 9th & County Line Rd. The PTO is hoping to work with the Police Department and the Village to make this intersection safer for our students!

Miss the meeting? Minutes can be found on Oakpto.org.

Our next PTO meeting is Wednesday, November 8th! See you there!

Thank you,
Grace & Nicki
