The last Wednesday of school was one of those perfect days where all of the outstanding efforts of Oak kids, staff, and parents intersected, and we were bursting with pride and gratefulness for our amazing school community! It started with the Lunch In committee serving Baldinelli’s, followed by the Kids Care Club’s generous donation drive for Hinsdale Community Services. Next was the Matt Wilhelm assembly where students gathered to listen to Matt, a 2-time BMX national champion, spread an anti-bullying message taken from his own life experiences as he spoke about the sting of hurtful words, standing up for those in need, and celebrating what makes you different. Lastly, parent volunteers hosted Holiday parties in the classroom-all while students wore their pajamas as a reward for positive behavior throughout the week! Thank you so much to everyone who contributed to this great day, and we hope your kids enjoyed being a part of Growing our Community. This Oak community means so much to us, and we wish everyone a Happy New Year!
