A Season of Science

In February we have the Yuck show planned: Thursday Feb 4th at 6:30 pm. Mark your calendars for this virtual family science night assembly sponsored by the Oak PTO! The Yuck family science night experience is HUGELY INTERACTIVE. Students are engaged with group-led science experiments and spectacles

Also in February we are offering 3rd-5th graders an opportunity to sign up for a free 1 hour Minecraft coding class in cooperation with the Hinsdale Public Library (HPL). The Organization “Hour of Code” introduces children to computer science and coding. If there is enough interest, we can also plan a March session for K-2 nd grades. The first Friday in March we will have another virtual interactive presentation by a scientist and
researcher Dr. Gutierrez on the science of paint and paint chromatography. We will be sending
home some supplies and details for this presentation separately.

The second week of March we will have a 1 week STEM Challenge for K-5 th grades from March
8 th -12 th . The students will have an opportunity to answer the STEM questions, enter into a drawing and win a prize at the end of the week.
