Dads Needed for 2018 Oak Science Dads Event

We need Oak Dads!

The 2018 Oak Science Dads is forming for the annual science day demonstration. The Science Dads could use more volunteers to help us dazzle, amuse, and teach the children of Oak School cool science concepts. You do not need a science background to take part—all are welcome.

The Science Dads event will be on Friday, May 18 from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm in the Oak School Gymnasium. Our first preparatory meeting will be on Thursday, April 12 at 7:00 pm at the Hinsdale Library 1st floor Boardroom. At the meeting we will brainstorm and talk about:

• Project ideas
• Lead, co-lead and help with the 4 or 5 projects
• Possible outside support for projects (e.g., in prior years we had on-site demonstrations by companies such as Tesla and Navistar)

We will have another meeting in May to finish and prepare the experiments. Even if you cannot be at all the meetings, please volunteer anyway; we will get you caught up.

Science Dads is a chance for you to shine in your child’s eyes and a consistent hit with the Oak kids! Please contact Scott Ostericher,, Mike Zielke, or Axel Lapica, if you would like to learn more or volunteer.
