OAK SEASON OF SCIENCE

Thanks to all who participated in the Minecraft coding class! We are happy to organize something for K-2 if there is interest so please email President@oakpto.org if you are interested.

On Friday March 5th at 6:30pm we will have another virtual interactive presentation by a scientist and
researcher Dr. Gutierrez on the science of paint and paint chromatography. We will be sending
home some supplies and details for the experiments by March 3rd. Please read the enclosed handout because there are some materials that parents will need to provide such as : corn syrup, corn starch, flour, salt and vegetable oil. The Zoom invitation code will be sent out to each parent separately and available on oakpto.org under the events tab on March 5th.

We have moved the STEM challenge week to March 15th-19th. The students K-5th will receive home a STEM related question ( Mon.-Thurs.) in their red folder which they will answer on that paper and return the next day. If they answer correctly, the signed paper will act as a raffle ticket and go into a classroom bucket of answers. On Friday March 19th one winning ticket will be pulled at each a.m. and p.m. class by the teacher. Remote learners will receive the questions by email, they will respond by email and then there will be 1 remote winner name pulled as well.
