The Parent List

Today the PTO had a presentation by Tara DeGeer who has created a community resource know as

The Parent List.

Tara created a parent resource to help parents find resources to help their children with emotional, developmental, learning, or health problems.

When faced with these issues, who do you turn to? Where do you find treatment that works?

The Parent List contains first-hand insights from D181, D86, and D63 parents about providers that helped address their child's anxiety, depression, bullying, social media, school violence, eating disorders, insomnia, grief, stress, ADHD/ADD, autism spectrum, and more.

Doctors, therapists, support groups, in- and out-patient programs, nutritionists, books, and holistic medical approaches may all be viewed and reviewed on the Parent List.

Please, if your child or a family you know needs help, please check out this resource for vetted providers who have helped other community students.

The D181 Foundation's Young Writers Program

Young Writers 2023 - "On Our Minds"

D181 3rd -8th Graders are invited to submit a piece of their writing to the 2023 Young Writers hardcover book and then celebrate at a special evening on Thursday, April 13th.
Register by Jan. 31, 2023 to participate.
Submit written work by February 7th.

Students do not need to write something new to participate. They can submit something they have already written that makes them proud!
In addition, we are running a cover art contest open to all District 181 K-8 students. All the cover art submission details can be found on our website.

Lunch-In New Vendor! Order Now!

Lunch-in has secured a new vendor. Home Run Inn Pizza will be added to our current lunch rotation (1/27, 2/6, 2/10, 3/6, 3/17, 3/20). Please note 3 previously scheduled lunches had to be moved in order for Home Run Inn to accommodate the set lunch schedule: Jimmy John’s (1/27 moved to new date 1/20) and Potbelly-sandwich (2/10 moved to new date 2/17 & 3/17 moved to new date 3/24). A revised schedule is attached.

Myfooddays is now open to purchase Home Run Inn lunches. The deadline is Tuesday, 1/17 at 12pm. Families may use this opportunity to change previously placed lunch orders.

All ingredients can be found on oakpto.org or contact the school nurse.
