Volunteers Needed for Friends of the Library!!

Do you enjoy quiet zen time? Do you get a thrill out of organizing and accomplishing a task? If the answer is yes to either of these questions, the Friends of the Library committee is calling to you!

The library at Oak School relies on volunteers to keep the many books and media resources organized and ready for students to use for class assignments, homework, and develop a love of reading and learning. Responsibilities range from shelving books, prepping new materials for circulation, and supporting special activities and projects offered through the library. You will work directly with our amazing teacher-librarian, Mrs. Colleen Malone, and our delightful library-aide, Mrs. Martha Kosek.

We are looking for parent volunteers to dedicate 30 -60 minutes of time weekly or every other week to accomplish these tasks. And, if you volunteer at the end of the day – you can secure that beloved parking spot available during pick-up! So grab your headphones, put on that latest podcast or audio-book and come help out in the MRC!

There will be one training session to orient everyone to the library and, if you have volunteered in the past, to go over several wonderful changes to the library over the summer.

To join the volunteer team, please go to the PTO sign-up page under “Library Helpers” at, email Jenna Julian at, or click on this link,
