Science Fair: THIS Tuesday, 2/25, at 6:30 pm!

The annual science fair is Tuesday, February 25, 2020, from 6:30 – 8 pm in the Oak School gym for all K-5 scientists. Judging and prizes will be held for 3-5 graders.

A Science Fair Workshop Presentation is available (even usuful for last minute guidance) on the website under Events/2020 Science Fair. The presentation may also be accessed here: Science Fair Workshop Presentation.

Student scientists need to bring their science boards/tri-folds and all of their materials in to the school on the morning of the Science Fair (this Tuesday) and set them up in the gym at their labeled location, organized by grade. Traditionally, all Oak students stop to visit the posters during the day of the science fair with their class. When students set up their boards in the morning, there will be a t-shirt for each child (labeled with their name) at their station. Students are to take the shirt with them and WEAR THE T-SHIRT to the Science Fair in the evening!

The boards will stay set up for the Science Fair in the evening. If there are reactions that you would like to demonstrate at the fair, you do not need to demonstrate them during the day (Ex. volcanos, etc.). Children can bring in the materials needed for the live demos in the evening, if that is easier for the families.

Finally, to celebrate all of the hard work of our scientists, a pizza party for all science fair participants will be held on Wednesday, February 26! A flyer listing ingredients (and permission form) was sent home with science fair participants in the Friday folder last week. Please return the permission form by Wednesday to the front office. Students should also wear the Science Fair t-shirt at the pizza party the next day for a group picture for the Year Book.
